About Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma)

Diploma in Pharmacy is a short-term programme for aspirants who want to foray into pharmaceutical business and pharmacy jobs. The course is ideal for students who seek short programmes in the pharmacy domain as B.Pharma and Pharma.D are long-term courses of up to 6 years. Diploma in pharmacy can also be pursued in order to understand the basics of the programme and pursue advanced courses in this field.

The programme covers basic pharmacy education including the application of chemistry in the pharmaceutical industry, concepts of biochemistry, pharmacology and toxicology. The programme enables the students to learn about different chemical salts, their application and uses in medicine. The programme holds good value in the pharmaceutical industry. 

Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) Eligiblity Criteria

  • Minimum Qualification Required: 10+2 (Chemistry, Biology/ Maths and Physics)
  • Minimum Marks Required: Pass in Class 12 Exams

D.Pharma Admission Process

  • Candidates must have passed class 12 exams with science in order to take admission in this programme.
  • Some institutes also offer direct admissions to these courses i.e. without conducting entrance or state level exams.

Although D.Pharma is a diploma programme, there are some good job opportunities that candidates can seek after completing this course. Jobs are available at pharmacies of government and private hospitals, private pharmacy stores, pharmaceutical companies, etc. Job opportunities are better if candidates pursue B.Pharma after the D.Pharma programme.
